L&S Gifts (“we”, “us”) is a family-run personalised gifts business operating ls-gifts.co.uk. This policy explains what personal information we collect, why, and the rights you have over it under UK data protection law (UK GDPR and the Data Protection Act 2018).

What we collect and why
When you place an order
We collect your name, email address, delivery and billing address, phone number (if given) and the details of what you’ve ordered. We use this to process and deliver your order, send order updates, and meet our legal obligations (like keeping accounting records). Legal basis: performance of a contract, and legal obligation for tax records.
Personalisation details
When you personalise a gift, we collect whatever you add — for example names, dates, messages or photos. We use these only to make your item. Please only upload content you have the right to use. Legal basis: performance of a contract.
Payments
Payments are handled by secure payment providers (such as Stripe or PayPal). Your card details are entered with, and processed by, the payment provider — we never see or store your full card details. We receive confirmation of payment and the basic details needed to match it to your order. Each provider has its own privacy policy.
When you contact us
If you use our contact form or email us, we collect your name, contact details and your message so we can reply and help. Form messages are also stored securely on our website so we don’t lose your enquiry. Legal basis: our legitimate interest in responding to you.
Accounts
If you create an account at checkout, we store your name, email and order history so you can track orders and check out faster. You can ask us to delete your account at any time.
Cookies
Essential cookies keep the basket and checkout working. Optional cookies run only if you accept them in our cookie banner. Full details, including every cookie we use and how to change your choice, are in our Cookie Policy. Your wishlist is stored only on your own device and is never sent to us.
Who we share information with
We never sell your information. We share it only with services we need to run the shop:
- Payment providers (e.g. Stripe, PayPal) — to take payment securely;
- Delivery services (e.g. Royal Mail) — your name and address, to deliver your order;
- Our website hosting provider (UK-based) — where the website and its data are stored;
- Authorities where the law requires it.
How long we keep it
- Order records: up to 6 years, as required for UK tax and accounting.
- Personalisation photos/files: only as long as needed to make your item and resolve any issues, then deleted.
- Enquiries: as long as needed to help you, then deleted periodically.
- Accounts: until you ask us to delete them.
Your rights
You have the right to ask us for a copy of your personal information, to correct it, delete it, restrict how we use it, object to our use of it, and to receive it in a portable format. Where we rely on your consent (like optional cookies), you can withdraw it at any time. To exercise any right, email hello@ls-gifts.co.uk — we’ll respond within one month.
If you’re unhappy with how we’ve handled your information, you can complain to the Information Commissioner’s Office (ICO) at ico.org.uk or on 0303 123 1113.
Children
Our website isn’t aimed at children and we don’t knowingly collect information from anyone under 16. Orders should be placed by an adult.
